The plant in question I once have got from the Botanical Garden in Linz (Austria).
To me it looked to be a typical Dieffenbachia with a stunning leaf pattern.
In an old description of foliage plants for indoor deco I found an image that was matching,
but the author had identified it as a species of Homalomena.
