A. albusAmorphophallusA. bulbifer

Amorphophallus atroviridis

Hetterscheid 1994

This plant when it's mature and cultivated in temperate regions, grows in a 2-year cycle.
First year it blooms and if pollinated the fruits ripen,
next season, after the dormancy it puts up a leaf.

2007

In Spring of 2007 I bought a tuber. It was 11 cm tall. It was pink because it was treated with a fungicide.
On 20th of July it showed a bud.
On 1st of August the appendix appeared.
On 10th of August male flowers appeared.
The peduncle was about 12 cm tall.
On 14th of August the inflorescence fully opened. It was 28 cm tall with the peduncle.
It had no smell or I came to the garden in too late hours.
Male flowers.
Below the male flowers there are pistillodes (sterile female flowers), and then fertile ones.
